I will give this book a 7 out of ten. I liked how the book had multiple points of view of the spice road, but I did not like how when I read the story of the book, it sounded much like a fiction book. The emotions that the author showed Marco feeling were a more like inferences than plain factual evidence. I did like the little captions because they were interesting and short, which to me is a perfect combination. Although it may have a few problems I recommend you read this book.

i would give this book a 5/10. i found that it couldnt really hold my attention. i liked reading some parts but oters, not so much. The first story was about Xuanzang, it was about how he wanted to go to india so he could get the official copies of the budhas woeks. this adveture took him 16 years. he had to go through many things and got lots of help along the way. the second story was about ghengis khan. he was the leader of growing clans and their quest was to make their clan better and under ghegis` ruling they did conquer many places. the third story was about marco polo. marco was a merchant that went on a journtye with his father adn his uncle. his father and uncle had been missing for years and they finally returned, but they had to leave shortly after so they could fufill the quest given to them by kublai khan for helping them. they took marco with them. they stayed for many many years but eventually did return home.

this book didnr really get my attention. Some parts were interesting others not as much. I also liked how it wasnt all hard core facts there was some on thoughts on how they were feeling thrown in there as well! my favorite person was marco polo (so cool how thats actually his name) because even though he had a life of a merchant he did many :) i give this book a 7/10

This was another book that I thought was only so-so. It follows the tales of three explorers of the Ancient Silk Road. Xuangzang, Genghis Khan and Marco Polo. While each of them came from vastly different backgrounds (Chinese, Mongolian and Italian), it was interesting to read of how each of them battled their way to many riches on the silk road. The layout of the book was engaging and the explanatory blurbs kept my interest but the stories of fighting did get repetitive and after awhile got a little run on. The only improvement for this book that I would say, would be to shorten it. I give it a 7/10.

I found this book very informing. I did not know very much about the Silk road before I read this book. I had heard of Marco Polo but not of Genghis Khan or Xuanzang. I liked how the book was from teh point of view of the characters and how it gave a very eyewitness account of how the silk road was at that time. It read like fiction. I rate this book a 7/10.

I would rate this book a 4/10. This book just seemed to carry on forever. It was the song that never ends. It couldn't hold my attention. There were so many other things that were more interesting that I could have been doing. If I had to pick one story that was the best I would choose Ghengis Khan's story. I found his background interesting and his adventues of conquering the other clans amusing.

It was about these three explorers who travelled on the dangerous ancient silk road across the eastern countries like China, India, Mongolia and more. They brought knowledge and gifts to these promessed lands in return for a something to their king and country. I liked how it was not 12 font with plain text and 50 pages but with tidbits of informationto keep the text readable to youth readers. I enjoyed reading it although it took awhile to read it all for it's non-rapid pace but still a good read and educational.
I rate it 6/10.
