In this book Mary Quinn joins the agency that is a secret group at the school for girls she goes to. not many people know about it and you have to have some special qualities to get in. Mary has the qualities and is soon working on her first assignment. she is to work at the thorolds' house as a paid compaion to angelica thorold. she is suppsed to be finding out about mr.thorold and his illegal buissnesses. mary eventually joins up with james easton who she met in the wardrobe of mr.thorolds private office. together they gather many clues and in the end find out htat it is mostly mrs.thorold that is behind alot of the illegal buisness. she fakes being disabled and doesnt seem like the type of person who would be runnning a pirating buisness. my favourite part of the book is probably when mary meets james in the ardrobe and then meets him again later on and punches him because hes chasing her and she doesnt know who he is.

I quite enjoyed this book. Im quite a sucker for crime and mystery books. And the character of Mary Quinn or Lang intrigued me quite the same. I always love how authors bring there character to life espailly Mary being an orphaned child and having to dress up as a boy to make ends meat! and her new life all starts with a petty theft which resolves in death. Luckely she is sought out by Miss Treleaven or Anne because she doesnt seem like a regular girl which is more than the truth :) It was so suspenful, one minute i thought mr. thorold was the culbrit, than later i thought it was his daughter but in reality was mrs. thorold! and the matter was all over some illegal buissness that she was running ( pirates) and bankrupting her husband. I espaically liked James, who woudnt, he was a gentleman but like Mary was able to see more than the average person which made them perfect for each other!

In this book, The Agency, there was a girl named Mary Lang or most recently known as Mary Quinn. She is a thief who lives on the streets and when they catch her she is sentences to hang to the death. Not until she is rescued by Anne Treleaven and taken back to miss scrimshaws academy for girls for several years does she realize she might have a place in the agency, a top secret society of female investigators. A month after training she is put to work as the daughter of the suspects companion Angelina thorold, the suspect being mr. Thorold. She meets many people along the but the agency finally finds out that it was mrs. Thorold not mr. Thorold. I would rate this book a 6 out of 10. I did think it was confusing but was somewhat ok otherwise.

I thought the beginning was great, starting out very suspicious when Mary is at court, I love how the judge judges her appearance, how she is mixed. I loved how she met James and they worked together, the whole time I thought she was going to tell him the truth of why she was actually "spying". I was suprised when I finished the book, I never thought that the culprit was..... The relationship with Angela and Micheal was not to be expected, at first I thought Micheal fancied Mary...I was a bit dissapointed with the ending...I rate this book a 4.5 out of 10. It was a bit confusing and I didn't really like the ending...

i really liked this book because not only is it a mystery but it is also about life back in the Victorian era. in this book a thief named Mary Lang is rescued from the gallows by by a woman by the name of Anne. 5 years later at the age of 17 Mary has been excepted into a secret agency that the academy which she entered at the age of 12 and later taught at covers. for Mary's first assignment she was sent to help a primary agent find anything suspicious in the Thorold house hold disguised as a paid companion for Angelica Thorold. she gets help from a man she met in a wardrobe James Easton. together the two find many clues but none of it makes any sense before the day before the end of the assignment, when a young boy who worked for James was murdered and he was led to a refuge where Mrs.Thorold tries to burn down the place with him inside. later Mary saves him from the refuge. I rate this book 9/10

I liked this book very much once I got into it, but it took me about 3 days only to read the first 3 chapters and the prologue (this is very slow for me). After Mary and James met in the wardrobe, the book got much more interesting and I could hardly stop reading it. I liked the mystery and the crime in this book. I think the ending would have been better if James had taken Mary to India with him, as his brother was originally going to do with Angelica. To me, it really seemed like Mary and James were in love and I was sad when at the end, they didnt realise it. Hopefully, in future books in this series, Mary and James will meet again because I really liked James' character.
I would rate this book higher, but the beginning wasnt very good so I'd rate it 7.5/10.

I really liked reading this book. I liked how the culprit was alot like Mary Quin herself. Mrs.Thorold is not suspected because she is a woman and women were considered invalid at that time. Mary Quin went to a school that taught girls that it is possible for them to become doctors, store clerks etc.
I rate this book a 10/10

I very much enjoyed this book. I always find spy books very intriguing. The beginning was great, but as I kept reading, it started to drag on and I started to lose interest. I did however, think it ended well. I don't think I will read the rest of the series.
7/10

This book is about a girl named Mary Quinn but later on is actually Mary Lang who starts out as a single child whos dad died in a shipwreck (I think) and mom did of illness.Living alone and being poor, she is forced to steal from others. When she is found out and sent to court a lady saves her from being executed and takes her to a lady's school. When she is old enough the owners of the school invite her to join a secret spy agency and sends her on her first mission. I would rate this but a 8 and a half. I didn't like how her and James just left each other in the end I think it could continued as a series.

This book is about a teenager named Mary Lang who at age twelve was convicted of robbery than was freed by a member of The Agency for orphaned children. She later finds out that this place was run by spies and was invited to join them on their missions. She took on a mission as a paid friend to spy on their family and find out more about what the illegal business that they are running. Meeting more people like her trying to find out more about this family's secret business. Also her journeys lead her to find out more of the girl she used to be. I liked this book for it adventures and mysteries which are my favourite type of books. Set in the past with creating characters was amusing and with alot of imagination made it an enjoyabler read. I rate this book 8/10.
