Emily Sa. F7F King George I don't now how to start explaining what I liked about this book. It was in the point of view of a guy and his love life and for me it was kinda awkward reading it. Jack, the main character wants to be a screenwriter and so this book involved a lot of different plays and theatrical performances by Shakespear. I now know a little more about his plays. Other than the awkwardness while reading in a guy's mind I found that the book, just like the ending for 'Not suitable for family viewing' the author left off with a romantic ending. I rate this book 7/10.
Tomi Kolapo 8I Jake gets a job as a student set designer at the York School of Artsits his first step for becomin a screen writer/director. But soon enough he finds himself in a drama of his own c Nothing in Jake's life is the same after Vanni, a smart, wisecracking Indian-Irish-Canadian joins his class, and after Jake meets the unforgettable Alba, who is as stunning. Jake is tongue-tied around Alba and ask Vanni's help. All of a sudden — like the Shakespeare play Jake's school is putting on — Jake finds himself in a love triangle of complete with secrets and unknown passions, and misunderstandings. By the end, as in any good comedy, tensions are resolved and Jake's world has been re-made, though in a way he could not have anticipated. He and Vanni are in love :D
Meaghan F7F Over all i liked this book. The book is about Jake a teenage boy who wants to be a screen-writer. He gets in this school of the arts to fufill his dream. Then he meets Alba. He immeaditly falls in love with her. It was kinda weird reading it but at the end I enjoyed it. I rate it a 7 out of 10.
Snow W. F7H I really liked how it was in the point of view of a guy!! I also liked how the author added in all these famous plays and movies, Alba really suprised me when she "told him but not really that she was a lesbian" I thought they would end up with each other. Instant was absolutly hilarious with his "invisible man" thing with Chad!! Loved this, 9.5 out of 10!! xD!!
Rebecca Scott 8H I really liked this book and it is so far (even though ive only read 3 :P) my favorite! I liked how Jake and Vanni fell in love in the end. I think that the author could have made it more clear that Jake thought Vanni was a lesbian. I didn't realise he thought this until he said it at the end. other than this, I thought it was very well written. 8.5/10
Natasha 8A I would rate this book a 7.5/10. I liked this book because it has great voice and sounds like how a kid his age would actually talk. Jake sees Alba and thinks that he has fallen in love with her right away. He just likes her fro her looks. Her best friend Vanni on hte other hand may not be the best looking person, but she is nice and really cares about Jake. Jake after a lot of drama between Jake, Alba, Vanni, and Chad, and his dad when he was in the hospital decided he doesnt actually love Alba but instead he actually loves Vanni.
I thought this book was very good, but a little confusing. The main character, Jake, is an aspiring young film director who feels torn by what he wants to do, and what his father wants. However, he is finally accepted at an art school, where he meets many interesting characters. Alba, a beautiful young actress, Vanni, his best friend with a knack for words and Chad, another popular, aspiring actor. All in all, I thought that although confusing at some parts, this was a very good book with some interesting characters. I gve it a 7/10.
This book was okay but I thought could be better. IN this book a boy named jack (main character) has always loved the arts and wants to becaome a screenwriter, after being acepted into a school of arts jack finds a great friend Vanni and thinks he's inlove with alba. Using Vanni's brilliant poetic words he tries to show how much he likes alba but it backfires and alba wants him to help her date a guy named chad. Durig the book Jack realizes that he loves Vanni not Alba and goes out with Vanni.
Halli F8F This Book is about a boy named Jake (who is telling the story), wants to be a screen writer, ever since he lay eyes on a movie set. His father wants Jake to work with him in his business, carpentry. Jake and his dad make a compromise with the school, York. Jake becomes friends with a Girl named Vanni. Jake instantly falls in love with Alba. With Vanni’s help, he shows, Alba, his "poetic soul", this backfires against him. After some ups and downs, for example, his father’s illness and the incident during the BIG PROGECT. Jake finally realises the girl he really loved was standing right in front of him, Vanni.
I found this book hard to get into. I also found it hard to comprehend all the theatrical business, because I have never had an interest in that. I thought the books ending was the best part.
Kiara Julien F81 I still remember the shock I was in about how everything all came together! It was pretty cool. Jake is awesome, I don't get why Alba didn't TOTALLY fall for him, but that's not the point. I think what one of the things that drew me in was the title! I LOVE movies and I think what goes on beind the scenes in cool! I thought the writing was well done and I found myself laughing many times. Anohter one of my favorite books. 9/10
Lucy Shen 7A I liked this book and would rate it 7.5/10 because the plot was interesting. I was really frustrated at the main character, Jake for falling in love with Alba just for her looks. Before the author wrote that he actually loved Vanni and Vanni liked him I kind of already clued in because it was really obvious. I dont like how jake used Vanni to try to get Alba.If I were him I would've been happy to stay in the family business instead of screenwriting.

I rate this book 8.5 out of 10. I got into the book rite away and enjoyed every part of it. So basically Jake, the main character wants to be a screenwriter and his dad wants him to stay in the family business. When he transfers to an art school, he meets many interesting characters such as Alba, the beautiful girl, Chad, the boy who falls in love with Alba, and most importantly Vanni. Vanni and Jake become friends and become very close. Throughout the book, I found it very fun to read and I couldn't put it down. I thought it was a great ending because I was really happy that Vanni and Jake ended up together.
